Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Rhino3D or other 3D software is an advantage but not essential.
- The focus of the Grasshopper beginners' course is the understanding of the basic functions of Grasshopper & Rhino3D and the application of Grasshoppers main tools.
- This will be shown in numerous small exercises that can function as independent scripts so you can easily follow the course and later on go through the results again.
- In addition, you will gain an insight into the organization of data to allow parametric and generative workflow.
- An introductory presentation explains the origin and theoretical approach of parametric design and shows a variety of computer-generated techniques in design, analysis and manufacturing.

description
Nuevo texto
With Grasshopper you can handle complex modelling tasks just as in Rhino -parametrising surfaces or any other geometry. This allows the user in example to go through a form-finding process in the first design stages using GHP as an adequate tool for fast creation of numerous prototypes and morphological studies.
Nuevo texto
Through the use of data-inputs as parameters or mathematical functions you can reach a high level of precision and use GHP as a simulation program, even combining it further with more project specific Plug-ins (advanced level).
As a result this means on one hand an immense time and planning advantage over the “conventional” design method and has the flexibility of a non-linear workflow, which allows at any time to change the original parameters or values and adjust the final design model to the requirements.
Grasshopper uses objects and functions from Rhino, why is an advantage to be familiar with Rhino3D. Through its graphical programming scheme Grasshopper is an intuitive program, yet requires some abstract logical understanding capacities.
